Nauru is an island located in the South Pacific Ocean. Nauru is the world's smallest independent republic. It's former name was Pleasant Island. The yellow stripe on the flag represents the equator and the star represents the island's location in relation to the equator. The 12 points on the star represent the 12 native tribes of Nauru.
