Storyboard Adventures
Start a script-writing career! Launch a career as a famous author! Try cartooning or advertising! Design storyboards like the pros.
1. Hop on board! Storyboards are sequential drawings that show the plot of a story or script. People who work on large projects such as movies, books, commercials, animated cartoons, or similar presentations, use this technique.
2. Write! Create an original short story, one-act play, TV show, or commercial with Crayola® Erasable Colored Pencils. Fill it with lively dialogue and action! It’s easy to erase when you edit your work.
3. Choose highlights. Pick the most important parts of your story. Each item should relate to the next part of the plot and will be the subject of one drawing on your storyboard. Fold or cut construction paper into as many sections as you need.
4. Show sequence. Use Crayola Markers to draw one illustration in each square. Number your drawings in order. If you wish, mount your storyboard and story on posterboard for display.
Adult supervision is required for any arts & crafts project. Observe children closely and intervene as necessary to prevent potential safety problems and ensure appropriate use of arts and crafts materials. Some craft items, particularly beads and buttons, are potential choking hazards for young children. Avoid use of such small parts with children younger than 3 years. Craft items such as scissors, push pins and chenille sticks may have sharp points or edges. Avoid use of materials with sharp points by children younger than 4 years. Read all manufacturers' safety warnings before using arts and craft supplies.
- Use this method to plot historical events or stories behind the news. Research an important event, then create a storyboard to illustrate key happenings.
- Create an autobiographical storyboard. Or make one about the life of a family member, hero or heroine, or family pet.
- Take the next step and draw an animated cartoon or make Crayola Model Magic figures to pose for the action. Create stage sets and recruit actors. Make a video!
