HOW TO MAKE
  1. To make bean bags, decorate several socks with colorful Fabric Markers. Color each one differently so players can tell them apart. Ask an adult to heat set the colors according to package instructions.
  2. Partially fill socks with aquarium gravel or pebbles. Tie ends of socks.
  3. With an adult, choose an outdoor paved area that is clean, safe, and free from traffic. Use Sidewalk Chalk to mark target areas. Write point values inside targets.
  4. Draw a line some distance away from targets where players will stand to toss. Mark off an area for keeping score.
HOW TO PLAY
  1. Decide how many rounds to play. One at a time, players stand behind the line to toss a bean bag toward a target.
  2. Players add up their individual scores at the end of each round.
  3. Winner is player with most points at end of rounds.
VARIATIONS
  • Choose themes for the target shapes, such as space, wild animals, or princesses.
  • Vary target sizes and shapes for different levels of difficulty. Try triangles, stars, and octagons.
  • Challenge more skilled or older players! Increase the distance from the target each round.
  • Paint the game board with Crayola Sidewalk Paint instead. Or spray it on with a Crayola Sidewalk Paint Sprayer. Be creative!
  • Set empty, decorated boxes inside the targets to add extra difficulty. See Toss in a Box for ideas.
  • Play blindfolded, sitting on the ground, or with your backs toward the targets.
  • After you finish, make related crafts like these on a picnic table.
