HOW TO MAKE
  1. To create your own rings, decorate short lengths of cotton rope with Fabric Markers. Make at least two for each player. Heat set the rope according to package instructions. Use duct tape to hold the ends together.
  2. With an adult, choose an outdoor paved area that is clean, safe, and free from traffic.
  3. Use Sidewalk Chalk to draw at least five colorful target areas. Mark point values for each area. Draw a throw line a good tossing distance away from the targets. Create a scorecard area to keep track of points.
  4. Fill empty bottles with sand. Place one in each target area.
HOW TO PLAY
  1. Decide how many rounds to play. Players stand at the throw line with their rings. Players, in turn, throw all their rings, hoping to ring the targets.
  2. After a player throws, points for ringers are counted. Remove rings from the targets. Play continues until all players have thrown.
  3. Winner is player with most points when all rounds are played.
VARIATIONS
  • Used different sized bottles to make the game more challenging.
  • Distance from targets can be increased or decreased, depending on ability of players.
  • Make creative targets to go with any theme—birthday parties, favorite movies, or sports team logos, for example. Use a Crayola Sidewalk Paint Sprayer or Super Brush™ for a different look.
  • Cut the center out of paper plates to make rings. Decorate them with Crayola Markers or Crayons.
  • Play similar games like these that kids also craft before they play.
