Drawing Scribbles

Young children scribble. That is developmentally appropriate and they way they develop into the next stages of artistic development. Think about it from a Child's Point of View:

When I draw scribbles:
  • I see my motions make a lasting mark.
  • I gain a sense of color, shape, size, space and motion.
  • I build eye-hand coordination.
  • I play with my imagination.
  • I experiment with different kinds of drawing tools, speeds, surfaces and techniques.
  • I learn about myself.
  • I'm building towards the next stage of artistic development.
  • Do we have a scribble to add?
