Announcing Our Newest Color—Courage!
The Color of Courage
The inspiration for our newest color came from a very special group of kids—the courageous children fighting cancer and other catastrophic illnesses at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. Their strength and courageous attitude led us to ask: If courage were a color what would it look like?Inspired by Kids
We put this question to kids all over the country in an online survey. They reviewed 120 different Crayola colors in search of the one hue that best illustrated courage. Thousands voted and the results are in! And the Color of Courage is…drum roll, please...Scarlet!
Look for it
That’s right! The color that received the most votes to represent the spirit of courage is scarlet. And for a limited time, we‘ve renamed this color “courage” in honor of the children of St. Jude. It can be found in specially-marked boxes of 64 crayons, Pip-Squeaks markers and colored pencils. Crayola will be making a maximum donation of $150,000 to St. Jude to help in providing treatment and discovering cures for children all over the world. The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Thanks and Giving® Campaign
The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Thanks and Giving national campaign is an unprecedented union of celebrities, media, retail and corporate partners that ask consumers to "Give thanks for the healthy kids in your life, and give to those who are not." The Thanks and Giving initiative was created in 2004 by Marlo Thomas and her siblings Terre and Tony Thomas, children of St. Jude founder Danny Thomas. Funds raised by the campaign support the lifesaving work of St. Jude — to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. St Jude impacts the lives of children in communities across the country. For more information about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, please go to www.stjude.org.
