Open a Silly Putty egg and place the Silly Putty inside in an airtight container.
Apply Crayola School Glue to the entire Silly Putty egg with a paintbrush.
Coat the glued Silly Putty egg in alum and allow to dry completely.
In a bowl, dissolve 3/4 cup of alum in 2 cups of hot water. Stir until it is completely dissolved, add more hot water until alum is dissolved.
Once the alum is dissolved allow the solution to cool for at least 30 minutes.

Add the watercolor mixture to the dissolves alum solution.
Submerge the dried, alum coated, Silly Putty egg in the solution and set aside in a safe place overnight. This will allow the crystals to grow!
The next day, remove the crystal from the solution. If you want to create larger crystals, return it to the solution for another day or two.
