Milk Carton Bird Feeder

Supplies Needed

Gather all the supplies needed to bring your craft ideas to life! ...

  • Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Bird Seed
  • Hole Punch
  • Permanent Markers
  • Twine
  • Upcycled Carton

Steps

  • Step 1

    On upcycled carton side, draw outline for an opening with gel pens.

  • Step 2

    Have an adult help cut out the opening.

  • Step 3

    Rotate carton once and draw outline for a wing-shaped flap. Cut along outline, leaving top of wing intact.

  • Step 4

    Rotate carton once and repeat steps 1–2.

  • Step 5

    Repeat step 3 to complete final side of carton.

  • Step 6

    Paint beak, wings, and bird body. Dry 1–2 hours and add second coat.

  • Step 7

    Paint eyes above beak. Dry 1–2 hours.

  • Step 8

    Draw pupils and details with markers.

  • Step 9

    Hole punch top of carton. Feed twine through hole and tie ends into a knot.

  • Step 10

    Pour bird seed into openings.

  • Step 11

    Hang outside to let your feathered friends fill their beaks and bellies!
