What are the primary colours?

Primary Colours: Primary colours are the foundation for creating other colours. They cannot be created by mixing other colours together. The primary colours are:

  • red
  • blue
  • yellow

Secondary Colours: Secondary colours are created by mixing two primary colours.

  • red + yellow = orange
  • yellow + blue = green
  • blue + red = violet

Tertiary Colours: Tertiary colours are created by mixing primary colours and adjacent secondary colours on the colour wheel.

  • red + orange = red orange
  • green + yellow = yellow green
  • blue + violet = blue violet
