Why

All aboard for a craft that puts kids on the fast track to imaginative learning. This train takes kids places as they discover how to create their own fun.

Steps

1. Cut a cardboard paper towel roll into three pieces with Crayola® Scissors or cut similar pieces from a wrapping-paper roll. Cover one piece of roll with black construction paper to create a smokestack. Use Crayola School Glue to attach it to a recycled tissue box. Glue cotton balls to the top of the smokestack. Glue the smokestack to the front of a recycled tissue box. Dry.
2. Draw a conductor, animals, or other cargo for your train on recycled file folders with Crayola Washable Markers. Cut out and glue inside the opening of another recycled tissue box. Dry.
3. Ask an adult to poke a hole into ends of the boxes. Thread string through the holes and tape in place. All aboard!

Scissors—ATTENTION: The cutting edges of scissors are sharp and care should be taken whenever cutting or handling. Blunt-tip scissors should be used only by children 4 years and older. Pointed-tip scissors should be used only by children 6 years and older.

String-Like Materials—Includes string, raffia, lacing, yarn, ribbon, and other similar material. Children 3 years and younger should not be given any string-like material that is longer than 12 inches. Close adult supervision is essential whenever children use string-like material. When crafts are to be worn around the necks of children 8 years and younger, attach the ends of the “string-like material” with clear adhesive tape, which allows easy release of the bond if the craft becomes entangled or caught on equipment. For children older than 8 years, the ends of the “string-like material” may be tied and knotted.
