Lesson Plan

Supplies Needed

Gather all the supplies needed to bring your craft ideas to life! From paints and markers to glue and scissors, our crafts section has everything to spark creativity and make every project truly special.

Steps

  • Step 1

A cell is the basic unit of life. Have students research the parts of an animal cell. How do they differ from plant cells? A suggested source for older kids is "Plant Cells Vs. Animal Cells: Similarities and Differences" published by Baby Professor/Education for Kids. For younger kids try "Plant Cells vs Animal Cells" by Rebecca Woodbury, Ph.D.

  • Step 2

Ask students to draw a model of an animal cell using different colors to illustrate each part. Label the cell parts.

  • Step 3

How would this diagram differ from that of a plant cell?
