  • Paper

Steps

  • Step 1

Ask students to reflect on their positive attributes. What are they proud of? How can they build on these strengths? Are there areas they wish to improve? Have them write aDescription of themselves that outlines what they are most proud of.

  • Step 2

Have students look in a mirror to guide them as they create a self portrait. They might choose to add objects to the portrait that gives insight into who they are, their interests, and what they are proud of.

  • Step 3

Ask students to present their self portraits and talk about their strengths, the colors they used and why, and the facial expression they chose to portray.
