Colored Pencils on Marble

Wipe the stained area with a paper towel to remove as much as possible.  Use the marble cleaner per the manufacturer's direction.

  • Cleaning Materials
    Marble Cleaner
    Rubbing Alcohol
    All Purpose Cleaner

    If using a marble cleaner, use per the directions on the container. If using an all purpose cleaner, wipe the stain with a damp sponge. If any stain remains, apply all purpose cleaner with a damp sponge, work in a circular motion and rinse. If the stain persists, saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, blot the remaining stain and rinse.

    Zep Granite and Marble Cleaner
    Mr Clean Magic Eraser

    1. Apply dish soap directly to the stain. Using warm water and a colorfast cloth or paper towel, rub the stain and rinse as needed, removing as much of the stain as possible.
    2. To treat any remaining stains, use a Marble Cleaner like Zep Granite and Marble Cleaner according to package directions.
    3. If staining remains, use a soft bristle brush with rubbing alcohol, gently scrubbing the stain, removing as much of the stain as possible.
    4. To remove any residual stains, use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser according to package directions.
  • Cleaning Materials
    Water

    Wash with water. On unfinished marble, pastels will leave a residual stain.

    Upholstery Cleaner Spot Shot or Oxicleaner Based Cleaning Product Preferred

    Scrape off as much colored pencil as possible.  Use upholstery cleaner per the manufacturer's direction.  Repeat as needed.
