Modeling Clay on Fabric (Fresh/Heat Set)

Scrape off as much clay as possible.  Use ice cubes to chill the clay making it easier to scrape away.  Saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and blot the stained area.  If stain persists, rub liquid dish soap into the stain and wash as normal.  Repeat as needed.

  • Cleaning Materials
    Dull Knife or Metal Spoon
    Laundry Detergent

    Fabric (fresh)--Scrape off excess wet or dry air-dry clay using a dull knife or metal spoon. Wash the fabric in hot water/cold rinse with laundry detergent on heavy duty cycle. If stain remains, repeat procedure.

    Fabric (heat-set, melted)—Presoak the fabric in laundry detergent according to the directions on the container. Wash as directed above.

    Rinse the fabric with water to remove as much of the stain as possible. Apply a small amount of liquid dish soap to pre-treat the stain. Machine wash in hottest water the garment will allow using laundry detergent. Air Dry. If any stain remains, repeat as needed.

    SPECIAL NOTE: *OxiClean® powder may be added to the wash cycle by following the manufacturer’s suggestion to boost cleaning power.
  • Cleaning Materials
    Laundry Detergent

    1. Pre-treatment should not be necessary
    2. Machine wash fabric with detergent in the hottest water allowed according to fabric washing instructions. Hot water cycle is preferred.
    3. Repeat laundering, as needed, making sure to air-dry between washings. Heat-drying may set stains.

    Bleach for Colored Clothing Clorox 2reg or Oxiclean Powder
    Laundry Detergent Tide Recommended
    Liquid Dish Soap Preferred Dawn or Joy

    Scrape off as much crayon as possible.  Apply liquid dish soap and work into the stained area.  Let stand a few minutes, rub fabric under warm water to remove the  stain.  Machine wash using the heavy soil setting and the hottest water the fabric will allow with OxiClean or Clorox 2.  Allow to air dry.  Repeat as needed.

    ALTERNATE SUGGESTION:  Amodex Ink & Stain remover should be used per the manufacturer's directions.  Available by calling 1-800-624-7367 or www.Fahrneyspens.com or Amazon.com.

    Dryer Drum:  Wipe the stained area with paper towels to remove as much crayon as possible.  Use Mr. Clean Magic Eraser per the manufacturer's direction.  Clean, dry rags can be placed in the dryer and ran through a cycle to remove any remaining stain.  Repeat as needed.

    Laundry Detergent
    Prewash Laundry Stain Remover

    Remove as much excess No-Bake Sculpting Clay as possible from fabric. Wash in hot water with laundry detergent and rinse in cold water. Check fabric prior to drying. If stain persists, rewash then dry. If stain has been left for extended period of time, use following pretreatment suggestion: Remove as much clay from fabric as possible. Use pre-wash laundry stain remover according to directions on container. Work pre-wash into stained fabric. Wash in hot water with laundry detergent and rinse in cold water. If stain persists, do not dry. Repeat pretreatment and wash cycle, then dry.
