Tie-Dye Table Runner
Create a seasonal table runner with materials you have on hand. Unique crafts extend your family's holiday fun.
Steps:
1 Start with a clean white cloth, such as a plain recycled sheet or pillowcase, that fits your table.
2 Pull up several pinches of fabric and bind them tightly with rubber bands. Each pinch of fabric should be separate from the others, and can become a turkey tail, poinsettia, dreidel or other design, depending on the holiday.
3 Color the area that shows between the strands of rubber band with a Crayola® Washable Marker. If you are making flowers, add a few green areas for leaves at the bottom.
4 Cover a table top with recycled newspaper. Dampen the areas you drew on with a wet Crayola Paint Brush to blend the colors. Untie the rubber bands. Dry.
5 Add marker lines to outline and add detail to your designs. If you want these lines softened, use a damp paintbrush to pull the color into the design. Dry.
6 After your dinner, ask an adult to wash the runner so you can make a new Tie-Dye Table Runner for the next holiday!Crayola Washable Markers wash from skin and most washable children's clothing. Wash promptly in hot wash cycle. Do not use pre-wash or chlor
