While we don't manufacture a specific sharpener for Crayola Colored Pencils, hand-held sharpeners are the optimal choice for achieving a precise point. We recommend them over electric or crank-style sharpeners. Hand-held sharpeners with dual holes offer versatility for most standard-size and larger pencils.
Recommended Sharpeners:
- Standard-size colored pencils: Brass Bullet Pencil Sharpener and Chubby Pencil Sharpener. You can view these sharpeners on the NASCO website or call 800-558-9595.
- Large-size Write Start Colored Pencils: Helix Hand-Held Sharpener with two holes. Find this product on Blick Art Materials using product code #21401-0100, or call 1-800-447-8192. Some eye pencil sharpeners from beauty supply stores may also work!
Note: Crayola Color Sticks don't need sharpening, but you can achieve a fine point with any handheld sharpener that has a 15mm opening.

Crayola® Crayons are made primarily from paraffin wax and color pigment. This process is the same for all Crayola Crayon colors. The paraffin wax is melted and mixed together with pre-measured amounts of color pigments.
We purchase the powder pigments and either use individual colors or mix the pigments to produce the many colors of Crayola crayons. The hot wax mixture is poured into molding machines. In about four to seven minutes, the crayons cool and become solid. We manufacture almost 3 billion crayons each year.

If you're unable to locate the Window Markers, Crayola Washable Paint can be a fun alternative.
Pro Tips for Washable Paint:
- For the perfect mixture, add equal parts Crayola Washable Paint and dish soap.
- Add a pinch of flour to make the paint thicker.
- Don't forget to protect the area under your window by laying down an old T-shirt.
- Painting can be done on the inside or the outside of your window.
- Because soap is used in the paint, your designs will wipe off windows with a wet paper towel. You can follow up with window cleaner for extra shine.
