What is Color Wonder?

Color Wonder is a patented mess-free creative system of inks and paints, developed by Crayola scientists.

Is Color Wonder Safe?

  • Just like all Crayola products, Color Wonder is nontoxic.

What makes Color Wonder different from Washable Markers and Paints?

  • Color Wonder inks and paints are clear, and colors appear only on special Color Wonder paper. Kids love to watch the colors magically appear, and parents love the fact that Color Wonder inks and paints will not appear on skin, walls, or carpet.

What Color Wonder products are available?

Can I reuse my Color Wonder Paper?

  • You cannot reuse the same piece of Color Wonder paper twice.

  • Troubleshooting & Tips for Your Crayola Color Wonder Magic Light Brush

The Crayola Color Wonder Magic Light Brush is a mess-free painting tool designed to work exclusively with Color Wonder Paper.

    For best results:

    • Protect your work surface before starting.
    • Turn on the brush — the handle will light up and cycle through all colors.
    • Once the cycle ends, press the bristles into the center of the paint pad for 1–2 seconds to allow it to pick up enough color to transfer to the Color Wonder Paper.
    • The handle will temporarily light up the color of the selected paint.
    • Brush the bristles against the paint pad several times to coat them with an invisible layer of paint.
    • Apply the brush to Color Wonder Paper and watch the colors magically appear!

Do I need to replace the paint pads?

No. The paint pads are securely sealed during manufacturing and are not removable or replaceable. They are designed to last and will not dry out, even if the cover is not airtight.

How do I clean and store the Magic Light Brush?

    • Wipe the bristles with a dry paper towel between color changes to prevent mixing.
    • When finished, snap the cover on to protect the color pads.
    • Store the unit in a cool, dry place.

    Battery Installation:

Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the two screws on the battery compartment cover.
Insert three (3) AA alkaline batteries.
Ensure all three battery nibs (+ ends) face to the LEFT (refer to image on packaging or manual).

Replace the battery cover and tighten the screws securely.

    Battery Savers:

    • To help preserve battery life, the Magic Light Brush will automatically turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity.
    • To reactivate the brush: Push the power switch to "off", then back to "on". This resets the unit and turns it back on.
  • Crayola® Crayons are made using primarily paraffin wax and color pigment. While the basic ingredients remain consistent across all colors, variations may occur in special effects crayons.

Our crayons are crafted through a process that involves melting paraffin wax and blending it with color pigments. This mixture is then poured into molding machines where it solidifies in four to seven minutes. For a behind-the-scenes look at the Crayola crayon manufacturing process, watch the video "You've Got Crayola Crayons" on YouTube.

  • In 1993 we conducted a poll to find out the most popular colors in America. Blue was voted the most popular Crayola Crayon color. Rounding the top ten were red, violet, green, carnation pink, black, turquoise blue, blue green, periwinkle and magenta.

In 2000, we did another Crayola Color Census, and blue again reigns as number one! Six other shades of blue finished in the Top 10 including cerulean, midnight blue, aquamarine, periwinkle, denim and blizzard blue.  The other colors rounding out the list included purple heart, caribbean green and cerise.
