• Why don't Crayola Crayon label colors match the crayons?

  We currently use 12 different colored labels for CRAYOLA Crayons. The labels are purchased through an outside vendor and made of either vat dyed construction paper or printed paper and reforested wood. We manufacture more than 120 different Crayola Crayon colors, however, we do not have a crayon label to match each of these colors.

• When was the built-in sharpener first introduced to a Crayola Crayon box?

  In 1958 the box of 64 CRAYOLA Crayons was introduced. It was the first package to include a built-in sharpener design. We continue to manufacture this package design today in the 64 and 96 count Crayola Crayon package.

• Can I use armatures with Air-Dry Clay?

  When creating with Crayola® Air-Dry Clay, we recommend forming your sculpture into a 3D solid structure. If you feel an armature is necessary, it’s best to use one that allows a small amount of give, such as crumpled aluminum foil. Using a rigid armature can lead to cracking, as it doesn’t accommodate the clay’s natural constriction during drying.

• I have a vintage box of crayons. How can I determine their value?

  Several factors may influence the value of a Crayola® product manufactured in our earlier years. Some of these include the condition and age of the product, along with the current availability and demand for the product. While we do not have an accurate way to determine this for consumers, your local antique dealer would be a great resource for this information. We suggest reaching out to one in your area for an appraisal.

• How long can I store unused Air-Dry Clay in an airtight container?
