On November 23, 1804, Franklin Pierce was born in Hillsboro, New Hampshire. He served as the fourteenth president of the United States. His nickname was "Handsome Frank" because he was known for his good looks. During his term as president from 1853 to 1857, the nine-inning baseball game started. Pierce died in Concord, New Hampshire on October 8, 1869.
