Create a paper "Quill" Pencil.

Directions: Use Crayola® crayons, colored pencils, or markers to decorate the feather. 2. Cut out the feather. 3. Fold the feather in half along the dotted fold line. Slip a Crayola® crayon or colored pencil inside the feather, and tape it in place.

Did you know?Quills, the hollow stem of a bird's feather, was once the primary writing tool. The writer had to dip the quill into a pot of ink after every few words. It took a long time to write a letter until the mid-nineteenth century when steel-tipped pens were invented.
